Strikes for Strays
February 18 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
We all love animals! Many of us donate our time to save animals because we love them so much, but sadly love is not enough. FFN has been helping animals in need since 2001 and has placed more than 8,000 cats and dogs in adoptive homes. The annual expenses to care for the animals who enter our program on a daily basis are quite overwhelming. For the last 15 years, Strikes for Strays has been a major source of funding for FFN, providing lifesaving medical care and enabling the continuation of our lifesaving journey – saving lives, one animal at a time. Just as our love comes to the rescue for these animals, so can yours. Your support is desperately needed to continue our efforts and make a significant difference in the lives of homeless and unwanted animals. Your support will help more animals like Rudy and Brewster!
Rudy, a young German Shepherd, was purchased as a puppy then discarded by his family when they realized he wasn’t perfect. Rudy is deaf, blind in one eye and exhibits a much clumsier than normal puppy mobility. As Rudy grew and learned to compensate for his disabilities, he unfortunately developed severe digestive issues as a result of long-term unresolved internal parasites. Rudy came into Furry Friends Network’s care in July 2016 and began a year-long journey of medical treatment to conquer his digestive issues and find his adoptive family.
Brewster was found on the side of the road at just 4 weeks of age. Although he was relatively healthy, he did have trauma to his jaw and an upper respiratory infection. Our only guess is that he had been tossed from a car. Thanks to his own resilience and the love and care he received while in foster care, Brewster is much better and is looking forward to a lifetime of love and happiness.
